I don't believe you are
This isn't the greatest
Deed I've done so far.
But if you look in the history
If you consult the books
Legend says it well
That it's always been rough.
Why can't we change
Anything that matters
We aim for the same things
I know I'm not immune
Past, past or present
We should get our act together
I'm talkin' 'bout the human race
Can't be alone.

But there's always been idealists
Seems their legacy is transparent
(In other words, they've failed
To make the world a better place).
The trend and science are ominous
Sayin' "There's nothing I can do about this"
I'm forced to admit
That they're probably right.
